when you click to skip dialogue, please have it simply show the full text first, THEN skip once you click again. I found myself trying to skip through because i read fast, and ended up missing quite a bit of dialogue. Although i appreciate the in depth voice acting, it just moves a little slow for your average gamer, i feel.

clearly you are not finished and are just looking for feedback, but i'm not sure whether you meant to have 2 players, or for the player to actually be fighting themselves. perhaps if you are having difficulty with having the monsters act a certain way depending on their situation/ what was used on them, simply add a short 3-4 move looped script for their combat.

i thought the dice visuals were cool, but tended to take far too long to stop rolling. consider making this animation much, much faster, because even after finishing the first battle, i found myself very irritated at having to wait for this each round when it's just 2 6 sided dies rolling.

essentially so far i think you've got a good thing going, but definitely consider how certain aspects of a game such as this (especially if you mean to stick to a combat+dialogue only system) grow very tedious as they repeat themselves.

consider adding 2 more preset characters to start with (u can keep the same dialogue or w/e and just change weapon sets i.e. warrior, archer, wizard, etc)

perhaps instead of just the regular attack, go for a power attack/flurry/critical strike system such as what is used in KoToR?

music was great, btw. did you make that yourself? i was just playing yellow version earlier today.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep them in mind for future updates.

As for the music, they're from the Audio Portal and can be found on the credits to the left.

i'm already noticing a TON of issues. First off, making the player switch the gun back and forth is ok, but relatively pointless when you've already added the spacebar for rockets. Why not EITHER have to press space OR control the gun? this sort of 2d racing game really falls apart when it gets too complicated...

the turret attacked crates which were necessary to make certain jumps, and frequently was more of a boon than it was helpful, and within the first 20 seconds i noticed that rockets move at a sluggish and unrealistic pace, and literally never hit the target until i had either passed it or been slowed down to a near stop by ramming it so much.

i liked the original, and im happy that you've gone on to make more, but this is honestly just garbage.
the only real improvement that i see is a prettier interface with fancier menus. If you were to fix the rockets, make the gun either auto target or aim with the mouse, and fix the fact that the gun auto attacks crates which are necessary to complete jumps and reach certain areas, i would play this. otherwise, this is just a waste of my time.

especially after reading other reviews which state that the game stops working at the third tier and has lag issues, i just cant say that it is worthwhile for me to play past the first level. You've already kind of ruined a classic for me, and i mean that in the least antagonistic, most helpful way that i can...

the tips should not be so instrusive. they limit where i am able to place buildings and overlap the other menus, and cant be moved to the side? it's clearly not very smoothly executed, and i missed a large portion of the tutorial just trying to deal with the building menu and the tips being on top of each other.

on top of this, the x button goes to the next tip instead of closing the tips? this whole system is just obnoxious and made me not want to learn how to play the game.

i notice as i play more that every single menu acts like this... it's incredibly unweildy and irritating and given the number of preexisting RTS games that are the same or better than this, im gonna have to say that i cant play this until you fix the interface. There are 100 other ways you could have done the menus that would be more effective and less intrusive... I find myself constantly scrolling too far by accident in an attempt to be able to see what im doing, because there is a huge grey rectangle or circle taking up 1/3 of the screen for the entire game.

decent. Clearly has many different upgrades and enemies, but i found that the platforming didnt really give enough flat space to make this a viable shooter. if there were melee attacks, it would compensate for the fact that you have to just jump up and down and shoot at wherever the enemies are standing, but as it is the combat is just awful... at least allow the player to aim with the mouse so im not just sitting here jumping up and down so i can shoot enemies without standing on the same platform as them

the loading screen was very unclear/ i thought that the game was just frozen and refreshed the page several times before realizing that i needed to wait. The sound was very very quiet at parts but for instance the effect for picking up the key was earsplitting so please work on balancing the audio more. (also the music wasn't my taste but that wasn't a problem really)
i agree with others that the pyramid part was very difficult. ive been stuck for 20+ minutes running back and forth trying to figure it out, and am going to quit now/ would probably have given a higher rating if this wasnt happening.
I think also that i may have missed a record in the earlier area before going up thru the hole, but am not able to return down there so i dont know. In general i dont see how so many people have said that this is easy, while the other half are completely stuck, so this may be the reason we are having problems.
sometimes the doors were unresponsive/ you should make the hitbox or w/e a little bit larger so you dont have to be right in the middle of the doorway.

that said, the art was incredible, and i really enjoyed how much detail you included (the little room inside the cave was so cool!) i just wish i could have finished/ given a better rating

i cant even figure out how to get past the tutorial????
what am i supposed to do? it says kill em all but they just respawn immediately and i have been playing this little rectangle of mediocre platforming for 10 mins with no visible exit or method of progression. either create a better tutorial or fix this... i dont know what the hell im supposed to do and am pretty irritated about having wasted my time on this.

jump should most definitely be up, include WASD and mouse controls. I love the music tho! reminds me of somewhere between minecraft and mario 64 :)

it seems cool, but my comp went insane with lag before i even finished the tutorial. I cant say i know too much about programming, but i feel like i see a lot of platformer titles that are able to function at high speeds with lots of different enemies and moving objects, yet i dont experience lag or overheating. Im sure you've done the best you can, and im not hating, i just dont get why so many seemingly simple games destroy my PC while others run like its nothing for hours. if you can deal with this lag ill finish the game, because it looks really fun. I just cant play it as is, though.

seems great except for 2 things. the spikes have too large of a radius. It extends past the top of the ledges so that you have to land well past the corner to survive, even if your character is not touching the spikes.

other than that, it takes too long to get those paw coins, but im sure that has something to do with profits (hehehe)

this game is cool, but when it comes down to it all you've made is a slower moving version of N with worse physics/ too much friction. I like it and played through because i have pretty much beaten N and wanted more, but i was disappointed that you so clearly took the game mechanics and pretty much just added larger stages beyond the size of the screen, otherwise just making it a little worse... idk man. I had a good time, but when you are tinkering with a classic like that, it's best not to change so much....

AmazingAdam4 responds:

Well what you're saying isn't true because I've never played N. Nothing was stolen gameplay wise, me and the N devs must just have similar brains.

this game is fucking awesome. I found that sometimes i would die because the cube would just stop (i think it was an issue with blocks going away but the walls still being there for a split second)

seriously tho. great concept, and for once with a flash game i kind of feel like im building some kind of coordination or idk learning a tiny bit hahahah
