fun, but the menus are a headache to navigate and you cant see which item slots are full while you're in the store or compapre them to what you already have without switching back and forth

helgravis responds:

Hmm, you bring up a good point. Yeah, that does feel like a hassle. I probably should have playtested it with more people before releasing the game. Anyways, thanks for the feedback.

its fine but i feel like you could give us a chance to fight the virus or at least explain we're gonna have to redo the whole level if it touches us?? maybe at least have the bolts already collected? idk i dont have the patience to play thru the level again when i already backtracked several times to make sure i got everything/ check out what all the switches did, only to end up being cornered because i spent like 30 extra seconds trying to sshoot an enemy that was flying too high up to shoot at first (maybe allow us to shoot upwards???).
i think it'd be fine for the game to work like this so long as you have a few simple introductory levels to show the player what each block or unit does, or at least let you know you're being chased by something instead of just playing that music??

WayneAdams responds:

really good points. thanks dude.

needs a "sell all" button, as well as the ability to select how much you sell at once so that you can free cargo space in order to get the right minerals for each recipe. the upgrades should not be so expensive initially, as it makes the game move too slow. you should be able to stop mining for coal and less valuable ores at your own discretion, because they fill the cargo bay much too fast and arent worth anything later in the game. furthermore, it doesnt make any sense for the upgrades to cost different minerals. they should cost money and maybe some iron, but you have no iron. the game began to lag excessively after i reached about 15km. since there is no drawback in upgrading your equipment, it seems strange that you'd make us unequip and then delete the previous part, instead of just changing it out as soon as the upgrade was purchased??? its nice to see the depth but when i cant access the stores from down there it seems kind of pointless to make the player scroll back and forth, especially when it seems to just be more of the same down there. this game isnt majorly flawed, but it could use a lot of work

aoblouk responds:

You can unlock a sell all feature from golden chests. At certain depths there are hidden features such as at depth 50, chests, and later battles so scrolling is a necessary feature.

you really need a mute option or a skip button for the intro cinematic (the music was abrasive and not very good), and it as well as the move speed and the text when speaking to other characters moves gruelingly slow... i almost didn't keep playing, but the high ratings in the reviews (on the first page) convinced me to keep it up. unfortunately, i couldnt figure out where to go to get my suit despite checking every room i could find, and the slow speed became increasingly irritating as the game went on... does it really need to move at such a crawl? i gave up after about 10 mins of walking back and forth with no progress whatsoever or any objects or people to interact with... it sounded interesting, but i simply dont have the patience for this.

UnrealCanine responds:

you can skip the intro by selecting load chapter 2 by pressing D on the menu screen. To get the suit head down, left at the T-junction, head into the locker room and press the button on the wall

the only problems i had were a lack of sound/music, and that the betting function needs a rehaul. it seemed to pretty consistently lose more often the more i spent on improving the odds, and it didnt make sense that i had to bet 100% of my money instead of choosing the amount. (same with the stocks - it's hard to actually play the market when you can only really invest in one or two at a time)
also - the heroic tangerines are a hugeeeee mistake to buy - they actually made me lose tangerines per second despite being the 2nd most expensive unit in the game... why??? if you're going to add that kind of dynamic to the game, you should really let the player know, especially when there's such a huge wait between the mutants and the 5d tangerine. it's frustrating to invest a lot of time into buying a bunch of the heroic ones, only to realize it's just taking you further and further away from your goal

GazThomas responds:

The gambling is actually very accurate, somebody on the subreddit tried it over 200 games and the odds were spot on:

It's pretty common to get losing or winning streaks in the short term but it averages out over time.

It's intentional that you can only gamble 100% or it gets too easy to game the system (I'm not going to say how but it came to light during beta testing).

Regarding the music and sound this game is meant to be played in the background while you are working/doing other things so I left those out. I suppose I could put some in though along with mute buttons like they have in clicker heroes though. That works pretty well.

Also regarding the heroes yes you can earn more tangerines with the mutants. But can you live with yourself knowing what you have done to the inhabitants of earth? It's a moral dilemma and reflects the real world. People who are willing to do bad things often end up richer. If you're not happy with the choice you made do a multiverse breach and do it differently. There is always another universe to experiment on :)

glitchy, slow, explanations unclear

cool animation and sound, but that's really all that i liked about this. sorry about the poor rating, but i am just seeing game after game today that doesnt really pan out like it's made out to, and im getting really sick of seeing so many concepts with potential that simply are unfinished

i hope to see some work done on this soon

pluss responds:

Hey! OK! No problem. But you do know that this game was made in 48 hours game jam, right? We would love to develop it further, because we see that many players like it :) Why did you find explanations unclear? What was glitchy for you?

cool sound, cool animations, but the movespeed is way too slow. took the portal to the left of the guy talking about an octopus and was immediately stuck because my character wouldnt walk down to reach the only portal left.

kind of disappointed... im really tired of unfinished games being posted here that clearly have potential....

eyedust responds:

you can get to the portal if you walk over the pathway of the portal and go down.

had to zoom out to 90% to see the whole game. i've noticed that quite a few games on this site have the same issue, on both this pc and my new one. you should look into that.
also, what button am i supposed to use? this game has no explanation other than to 'follow the rhythm', yet i have no idea which part i am supposed to follow or what to follow it with... i liked the sounds and the visuals, after pressing every single button on my keyboard i am forced to assume that this game doesnt even work... you need a tutorial of some kind other than just telling us to follow along and not giving any other info. sorry about the low rating, but im sick of seeing games on this site that are completely unplayable due to a complete lack of explanation.

Guy-Unger responds:

I'm sorry, this game was aimed towards people with a brain
if you cant figure out how to control i gladly invite you to not play my games ever again :)

why does it keep telling me to press x when all it does is make me lose lives? this game makes no sense.

Aprime responds:

You're losing lives because you've guessed the wrong number!
